Gdansk Gallery

Gdansk was a national treasure.
To keep his memory alive and to show newcomers to the breed
why pedigree is so vitally important,
we are pleased to present some of the many wonderful photos
taken of him throughout the years.

They should help explain why Gilbriar horses look like they do.

This artful photo was taken in a pasture at Barbra Spring's
Caravan Arabians in Santa Ynez, Ca.
When we joined the syndicate, that's where he was standing.
So most of our Gdansk daughters were conceived there.

This is one of my favorites.
It was taken before I met him.
He was much more speckled
by the time I came on the scene.

We bred to Gdansk ten times,
always hoping for grey fillies.
We got nine beautiful grey filies and
one wonderful bay colt.

Don't let that Egyptian halter fool you,
this is our pure Polish 'head' guy.

Now THAT'S a celebrity photo!

Janice Garrard*
took this one of me and my favorite star.

(She owned him before he was syndicated, and owned 51% afterwards)

This is the classic Gdansk photo that was used so much when he was alive.
It shows him at U.S. Nationals in Albuquere, N.M.

He was such a spectacular park horse and passed his action and neck on to his offspring.

This photo gives a sense of how powerful he was.
That was something one really felt in his presence.

This is a great photo of that fabulous neck
for which he was so famous.

Sometimes one of our mares will throw her head up high, in this same pose....
it always gives me goosebumps.
